Stargazer

"Stargazer" is the name of our new 47 ft catamaran sailboat, which will be available for charter (rental) in the British Virgin Islands as soon as she arrives from the builder's port in France by cargo ship in February. We are a very happily married childless couple in our early fifties who are originally from the East Coast of the US, but currently live in Los Angeles. We are passionate about exploring the ocean, but are first time boat owners and purchasing Stargazer is a huge investment & leap of faith for us. Once we retire, we plan to live aboard Stargazer and explore the world together. In the meantime, having it in charter will help us be able to afford her!

Our charter audience is sea loving vacationers with at least some sailing experience who are looking for a magical experience navigating the crystal-clear waters of the BVI together with their friends/family.

Navy blue for the wordmark...with possibly silver, gold or yellow for the design element (if incorporating stars/starfish)

We are looking for a beautiful/memorable/elegant boat name + graphic design for the hull of our boat which will quickly identify her as well as the "brand" image we want the boat to evoke. The image will be placed on either side of the boat towards the front (bow) so it can be seen when viewed from either side.

The inspiration behind our boat’s name is the mystical feeling one gets while gazing up at a star-filled sky on a clear dark night. From a practical standpoint- especially for offshore sailors- the stars historically have been critical guideposts to help them navigate the seas. But stargazing is also something one naturally does while at anchor on the sea at night, perhaps reflecting on life, taking in the majestic beauty above.

Our guests sail to satisfy their imaginations and desire for fun & exploration...we want them to leave with the satisfaction of having undertaken a special journey. For guests who choose to sail on our boat, we want the name Stargazer to create excitement and an anticipation of this feeling ahead of their voyage, and upon its completion, for the name to remind them of the joy they felt while onboard.

As for the "look" we want the boat name/font & accompanying artwork design to be elegant & timeless ... yet with room for also being perhaps just a bit playful. Because we are also here to have fun and enjoy life! We like the idea of a incorporating a single star, a series of stars, a starfish, or perhaps a blurring/blending of the two into one to bring the elements of “sea” and “sky” together.
For the wordmark, we would like it to be navy blue and in a block print/non-script font- please see the attached PDF for more details. The total area for the boat name + artwork will be roughly 7-8 feet long.
