Given our name is The Door at Cave Point, it's possible an image of a door may work opening onto water and/or nature. We are in a county called Door County. It's like Cape Cod. Gorgeous cliffs, forests, on Lake Michigan. We want the logo to feel upscale and relaxing. Cave Point is the County park that we border. Our website is vrbo.com/244227 if you'd like to see images. We'll want to use the logo on a private website we'll be building and on digital ads and Instagram. Therefore it will be reduced in size and can't be too complex/detailed. I think therefore the logo will need to be simple, distinguished, possibly round so can be in the corner of a photo on Instagram or on a brochure. For the meantime, can you build in our Vrbo digital address, knowing we'll want to put in TheDoorAtCavePoint.com once our website is ready? Or can you do the final version with both options? And a version with no website at all.
We used Midjourney to generate some sample logos. I've attached some images but since Midjourney isn't you, a human, they can't take one piece from one and another piece from another, so here are my comments on the attachment:
DClogo4.png I like because of the simplicity, ability to travel with a photo. Could work as a black or white/light background. Con is it doesn't show water but it won't travel alone so everything doesn't need to be in the logo.
DClogo9.png: I like since it's simple, elegant, incorporates Door and water, but wonder how gold will hold up and words will be seen depending on the size and background it is set against.
DClogo10.png: like the image on the left: Door with water and trees. Note there are not mountains in Door County! Don't want split screen so need to incorporate name across the lower half.
DClogo11.png: I wonder if this logo could be without the black/white background and just be the door with the triangle on top with some interesting grasses/water on the edge of the door/house. A big part of what is special about our place is the way the house brings nature inside by the volume of full glass doors all along the lake side and on the second story cathedral windows. This visual brings that to mind for me the way the tree seems to be coming out of the doors. I'm not crazy about the brown but maybe it could work. Brown works for the concept of a door. I find blue soothing and reflective of the sense of being on the water.
DClogo7.png: I wonder if the doors might open in the center to a view of the lake but somehow keep it simple. Or maybe we just keep the image of water under the name. I like the icon they create with the leaf above the name. That could be used throughout our website. We'd need various versions of this given it may be on a dark background and it would be nice to have the door and the name stand out without being in a box. I like the blue in the two other blue logos, this color is seems a darker blue/green.
