Description
PostgreSQL is open-source software that has been developed by the global community of developers. To mark this year's release of the software and to thank its contributors the PostgreSQL community will issue a number of marketing materials to accompany the release.
We are looking for a fresh design, something different than previously used artwork that can be applied to multiple mediums, such as:
* posters
* t-shirt
* brochures
* stickers
* challenge coins
Given the range of sizes, we are hoping for a design that can be used as a whole on larger mediums (i.e. poster) or in parts on smaller mediums (i.e. stickers, coins).
Background and what we are looking for:
The PostgreSQL logo is an elephant (https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Logo) but this specific logo is not required to be incorporated into the artwork. We are looking to take this identity and build upon it to create an illustration for this particular release of the software.
We are looking for designs that incorporate:
* elephant(s)
* homonym(s) of database terminology
* symbolism that incorporates the number 16 (optional)
The version 16 release notes highlight features that may be used for inspiration. (https://www.postgresql.org/about/ne…ased-2643/) For example:
* Sorting (bubble, quick, merge, etc)
* JSON (e.g. Jays on ...)
* Cascade
* Vacuum (e.g. freeze)
* Parallelism (e.g. multiverse)
* Monitoring
* Multi-lingual
* Replication (copying data is now allowed from replicas in addition to the primary node)
Here are some other general database software terms and ideas that may be used:
* Bag
* Blob
* Cloud
* Cube
* Drill down
* Forms
* Graph
* Grid
* Index (e.g. bitmap, hash, inverted, lossy, etc)
* Keys
* Logs
* Pools
* Snowflake
* Stars
* Table
* Warehouse
Please be sure to review the previous artwork (https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Artwork), as we are looking for concepts that are different from those previously used. Examples of previously used homonyms (not to be reused):
* B-Tree (bee tree) - (https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/…sql-14.svg)
* Merge (color merge) - (https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/…sql-15.svg)

Autres notes
We want to emphasize that we don't want to reuse any previous concepts so please be sure to review existing artwork: https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Artwork
Thanks, and good luck!
