Es geht um ein Cover für meinen neuen Fantasyroman "Des Feuers Macht", das ich unter dem Namen "Valerie C. Watson" veröffentlichen werde. Es soll Aufmerksamkeit erregen und vor allem Jugendliche ansprechen. Die Stimmung des Buches reicht von ernst bis abenteuerlich, soll aber keine düstere Endzeitstimmung verbreiten. In dem Buch geht es um Drachen, junge Zauberer und ein magisches Schloss. Es treten aber viele verschiedene Fabelwesen in Erscheinung, wenn man also eine Auswahl an magischen Wesen skizziert, passt es auch. Außerdem haben alle Jugendlichen spezielle Fähigkeiten, unter anderem sich in Tiere zu verwandeln (genauer gesagt einen Panther), eine Gedankenleserin, ein Gestaltenwandler, ein Zauberer. Außerdem gibt es eine erwachsene Frau, die sich komplett in Feuer verwandeln kann. I need a cover for my new fantastic novel named "Des Feuers Macht" (german for "the fire's power") to be published by the name "Valerie C. Watson". The cover is to catch the watchers attention and aims at young adults. The tone of the book's serious and adventurious, but the cover shall not be that dark at all. The plot features dragons, young sorcerers, a magic castle and very much classic fantastic creatures, so including a wide range of creatures can do the job. Some of the special powers of the young wizards contain transforming into an animal (especially a panther), reading thoughts, shapeshifting or just boring everday common magic ;-). One of the characters is a grown-up female capable of transforming herself completely into fire.

All diese Motive sind nur Anregungen und es besteht keine Verpflichtung, sie zu benutzen. Es sind weitere Bände mit den gleichen Protagonisten als Fortsetzung geplant. Am Besten wäre es darum, wenn der erste Band ein Muster aufweist, dass sich in ähnlicher Form wiederholen lässt. Jeder der Bände ist einem pythagoreischem Element (Feuer, Wasser, Erde und Luft plus Metall) zugeordnet. Der erste Band soll im Zeichen des Feuers stehen. Dementsprechend könnte man für die Gestaltung ein Farbschema mit Gelb- und Rottönen wählen. Das Farbschema würde sich dann mit jedem Band so ändern, dass es zu dem jeweiligen Element passt. Da auch eine Veröffentlichung als eBook geplant ist, sollte das Cover auch ins Schwarzweiß und auch als Thumbnail noch funktionieren.
