The Bodyscan website has grown organically from a terrible GoDaddy site to what it is today, which uses the Weebly platform, built by me. It's done the job well enough but now needs a redesign to make a leap to look far more professional, high-calibre and grab the attention and convert visitors. (Once I have the design I will probably use an existing company to actually build it with Wordpress.)
Bodyscan is pretty much the only company in the UK that provides the accurate DEXA service, so we need to look cutting edge and unique, not homemade. We are based in London only at two swanky addresses - Marylebone and the City.
Bodyscan simply measures how fat you are; while it doesn't improve your body, it gives you the information to enable you to do so (just like DNAFit), so we want to create that suggestion that Bodyscan will give you a better body.
All bookings are taken online and I'd like the site to try and make that clear but also show the phone number to take phone enquiries.
I like the existing Lato and Monserrat typefaces (but am open to suggestions) but there is no consistency, cross-site branding or consistent colour palette, it's a mess! You need you to come up with a fresh colour palette.
At the moment there is no encouragement or way to capture any details from visitors, other than a third-party pop-up (made by gleam.io) to get a 10% discount. I'd like something permanent and up-front on the home page to capture an email. (Weebly doesn't have any type of form that integrates with Mailchimp, my email provider, hence the Gleam pop-up, which does.)
I have chosen 'Physical Fitness' as the industry but that's because there is not a category for 'Personal Health' or 'Health & Fitness', which would be closer to what Bodyscan does. I stress again, while all our customers want to get in better shape and the site needs to be aspirational, don't get into the trap of focussing on muscled bodybuilders or on a dark, brick-and-metal-style industrial gym look.
It may be worth pointing out that all the bookings (and customer reviews) are handled by an external third-party booking engine called Bookeo. You can see this in action if you click on all the options under the 'Book' tab in the navigation bar.
