This is a book website for a book that will be publicly available next year. The writer likes clean and simple design, but still wants something that looks fresh and current (web 2.0ish). We just need a really fresh uncoded template. Please see the full design brief for more details and examples of other sites the designer likes.

The current site at [The Magic of Groundhog Day dot com] needs to be redesigned. “Groundhog Day†(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground…%28film%29) was a movie starring comedian Bill Murray in the early 1990s. This writers book, which comes out in February 2008 is a self help book about making positive change in your life using the movie as a parable.
The writer likes clean and simple design, but still wants something that looks fresh and current. He likes his current site, which we did using a template but he doesn’t love it. He would like to see other design concepts, using the content that’s already there. For some design inspiration, his favorite author sites are:

He would like to see different ideas to make his website more along the lines of his favorites above. Are you up for the challenge?
One final thing: We had discussed having a calendar worked into the design as part of a faded background. It's an optional touch, but the whole book and movie revolve around the same day in February (the 2nd) being repeated over and over. How you want to or can interpret that graphically is up to you. Remember also, that February is winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the story is about a blizzard, so imagery should be somewhat wintery feeling.
