Organization trying to help solve the overwhelming burden of day school tuition on jewish families.
tuititioncrisis.org - leadership through ideasHome Page Text: Welcome to tuitioncrisis.org (Big Bold) Help Shape the Future of Jewish Education - with your ideas By harnessing our collective intelligence, together we can help solveone of the most vexing issues affecting our community - how to reducethe financial cost of jewish day school tuition. This is your place toshare, vote, and help develop new creative action plans. (hand icon) Raise your hand: Create ideas. Don’t be shy. It’s anonymous. (red pen and paper icon) Grade: A “Pass” vote propels an idea towardsthe top. A “Fail” vote pummels an idea towards the bottom. Good ideasflourish, bad ideas flunk. It’s simple. Header: 5 links: Raise Your Hand, Grade, BlackBoard, Bulletin Board, OfficeEstimated cost of a jewish education - in a bar somewhere on top probably (text: Estimated cost of a jewish education for child born today: $239,598*).Button to Enroll (i.e. sign up) (login area)Each idea gets a score - in a box called a “Report Card”Each idea is posted on a “blackboard”Each idea should have a share button - to share with a friendEach idea should have a video button on the idea box (we will likely add the potential for people to add a video).
Each idea should have a documents button - just in case someone wants to upload supporting documents.
Dean’s List section (Top contributors)
Section for scrolling names of individual supporters & another one for Schools.Place for Google search box - search the site, search the web (kind of like the placement on ideas.salesforce.com)some sort of action section with:Make us your homepage buttonPass a Note Button (maybe like a school note like you pass in school - or just a button if that's nicer)Get Banner buttonDownload Toolbar buttonDonate Now ButtonOrganize Meet-up buttonJoin Facebook GroupDownload iPhone AppWebpage App & an RSS Feed Button For more information about the issue see http://www.ou.org/ylc/jti.htmthis is just to give you an idea of what we are dealing with.
there should be a jewish theme to the site
As opposed to the mystarbucksidea and ideas.salesforce.com - i'd like to highlight one idea upfront (with buttons to Pass or Fail the idea and a button to go forward to the next idea - this should really be central to the site so people notice it) - and then there should be another tab for "Top Ideas" and another one for "Most Recent"
colors are up to you
we will need internal pages - and are willing to pay for those after this project is complete - we will award the internal pages to the person who wins this contest.
remember - this is a crisis so that should be reflected in the design somehow....
if the logo is too much work - put a placeholder and let us know - we will do another contest for the logo.
we are after that web 2.0 feel.
we have no ability to take our ideas into action at this point so let'sjust focus on ideas and leave out the action part (i.e. the 'see'section on mystarbucksidea.com).
- Also - I've put down a lot of stuff above - use you discretion on what to keep and what to throw out - I would like to stress simplicity and web 2.0 over complexity.
