Looking for a super-star designer to push this design to the next level. It's almost there, the layout is good, but the colour scheme is giving me a hard time. Small adjustments to gradients and other details might help too.

Here's the main Photoshop file:

I have presented the client with a couple of different colour schemes, and since their business is centered around the oil industry, they wanted to go with the yellow/gold colours of refined oil. I'm having a hard time making these colours work.
A version in greys was my original favorite:

The client was ok with this, but think that the yellow/gold colours would be better.
My next attempt was to combine the grey and the gold:

This is not bad, but still not quite there.
You can adjust the design however you want, EXCEPT, the logo cannot be changed. They are not open to adjusting the colours or tones in the logo. You must also incorporate the goldy/yellow colour scheme in the design, but you are free to add any other colours that you want as long as the yellow/gold is still prominent.
The client is quite happy with the general structure and layout of the site, so although you can try some structural changes, the client may or may not like them. I do however encourage you to make adjustments to the background and other design details if you think they will improve the design. One thing I think it might need is some simplification to make it a cleaner, more sophisticated design.
To get a sense of the kinds of yellow/gold colours they were looking for, they sent me the following images:

Can you take my Photoshop file and turn this design into something amazing?
