For over 34 years Osterman & Company Inc., has been one of the top resin brokers/distributors supplying commodity and engineering grade thermoplastic resins to customers throughout the world. This means that we supply end users with plastic pellets that get manufactured into everything plastic you see in the market. Just a few examples of the markets we are involved in 99designs(but are not limited to) are the food industry, garbage bags, plastic forks, crates, car dashboards, toys, fencing and decks, medical supplies…you name it we’ve supplied it. Our focus is on being the Company of Choice for our customers, suppliers and employees. We pride ourselves on our integrity in a market where there isn’t vast pricing variations among competitors the value and integrity we provide is a differentiator.

The plastics industry is a mature industry and as part of our marketing drive we have positioned ourselves as the Company of Choice. We often use handshakes in our stock photography to portray the feel of our company, we’re business relationship based, not deal based. Our goal is to have our website be sleek and the “Mercedes” of our industry. We want to create a high end profession, fresh look in an industry that is mature but also ensure its industry appropriate. Also there should be a masculine feel as that best targets our audience.

Our focus is to reach out to all members in the resin industry. This would include our suppliers (Dow, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, et al.) as well as new and existing customers, and anyone surfing the net looking for plastic products, such as international buyers. Our industry ranges mainly from 30’s – 60’s and is predominantly male. Therefore the look of this site should be clean, fresh, current, with good use of white space, easy to navigate but not pop art and too trendy as we have a mature audience. It needs to be industry appropriate.


Our current color pallet that we would like to stay with is PMS 301 (our logo color - #005293 in hex) and the pallet we often use with our blue is white, black, gray/silver. Introduction of alternate colors is ok if it’s needed for design elements.

We want a design that stands out in our industry but is also appropriate. We want the impression to be Osterman & Company is cutting edge and dynamic, a leader.

We have attached what we refer to as our corporate line card. This has the “feel” of what we are looking for. Our current website can be viewed at This website we feels looks dated and doesn’t give the look and feel of a cutting edge, industry leader. Also don’t like the sizing which give the look a blue border.

Likes: like this site a lot visually, color scheme, clear and easy to read and navigate, good use of white space
Dislikes: inactive buttons under products on bottom of home page, design of corresponding pages don’t match with look and design of home page
Dislikes: busy and not easy to read, crowded, color scheme
Likes: Color scheme, ease of use
Dislikes: looks dated and old fashioned
Dislikes: too many colors and no clear theme, disorganized and hard to read, too many nav buttons
