Canadian Association of Professional Speakers

Présentation

CAPS is the national association of professional speakers http://www.canadianspeakers.org/with about 600 members, all in Canada. There are 10 chapters across Canada, each member is a part of one of the chapters. Members make most or all of their income from keynote speaking, training and/or coaching. Many also sell books and related products.
We need to jazz up our site! We have two chapters that have designed new sites (http://capsvancouver.com/ and http://capsedmonton.ca/) using the same designer. We would like to pick up on some of these design elements, but not copy them. The idea is that visitors will recognize some continuity between sites, but see that the national site as unique.

MEMBERS: Most members go to our site now to find other members (through the “find a member” service from espeakers), secondly they visit to access archived webinars, see events, etc.

Goal of new site: attract the members to visit more often and get more value from CAPS (like: access to good resources, buy a product, learn about the industry, connect online with other members, etc.).

BUYERS: These are individuals at mid to large firms, not for profits or associations looking to hire a trainer or speaker for an event. They could also be event planners working for a client who are looking for talent for an event . Either way, the buyers’ main interest is to get access to talent and to quickly access the options and contact the speakers.

Goal of the new site: Promote hiring a CAPS professional member. Post jobs and bookmark this site for future reference. The buyer pages will be much fewer than the member section and will be accessed from the home page of the main page.

This needs to pick up design elements from the Member Home Page (also modern, clean look) and convey an up-to-date look (come here to get current information). There should be a large grabber image of a speaker in action). This is not a content heavy page, the main attraction is to search for speakers (either through “Where we are” or the directory)

Exigences

The design requirements are for 2 pages: a home page for each of our two main customers – Members and Buyers:

MEMBERS:

Design a cool new home page that will feel fresh and current. This should be bright, fun but professional. I want fewer links, less clutter, no drop down menus and more obvious navigation to the main features.

Members will come to find another speaker and stay because of what they find here.

BUYER HOME PAGE

This needs to pick up design elements from the Member Home Page (also modern, clean look) and convey an up-to-date look ('come here to get current information'). There should be a large grabber image of a speaker in action).
This is not a content heavy page, the main attraction is to search for speakers (either through “Where we are” or the directory). Have fun with this - we want buyers to know that this is THE source for talent on stage.
