Solidfiles
Solidfiles is a file hosting website aimed at providing people with an easy way to both upload and share files.
We're preparing for a complete relaunch which will reinvent the file hosting
business as we know it and need a professional design to go along with it.
Our target audience is extremely broad; virtually anyone who has an interest in uploading a file. However, we believe that most users of our service will be males between 20 and 30 years of age but the design should not exclusively cater to that group.
It's important to note that the website is used by two groups: uploaders and downloaders. It should be equally easy to download a file as to upload one.
- We firmly believe in simplicity, do not make the design overly complex.
Usability is key.
- Try to keep the current design in mind, but you do not have to base the new one around the old.
- Color scheme should be light. Take a look at the current site for an example of what we like.
- The width has to be 960px as the site will use the grid system 960.gs and you should use their templates as a base. They can be found here: http://960.gs/

Start page:
The startpage needs to sell the fact that there is a premium system in place which gives you many great benefits to the service including more space, direct downloads and prioritzed bandwidth.
However, it should be clear that the premium service is just a benefit and the site is fully functional without it.
There should be a quick upload button and a sign up link like: "|Upload| or sign up".

We like how they try to present all features but still allow the user to just upload a file without an account. Too much clutter, though. Keep it simple!
