Overview
Aquattica.com needs a redesign of their web site, and I need a professional designer to come up with an attractive new look for the company. The folks at Aquattica are an engineering firm who design pools for commercial use (Water Parks, Universities, State Parks, YMCA's, etc.). They need a clean, attractive, professional new look to help promote their business.
Design Guidelines
Layout
Most likely the site will be constrained to a 750px wide area. Designing with a fluid layout in mind may get you an edge over other designs, but at minimum, make sure your design fits in a 750px width.
Navigation
The client prefers the "tabs across the top" look, so that's a safe place to start. There are six major sections of the site (see below) and each might have sub-pages as well. Work this into your design.
Here are the main tabs:
Home
About Us
Consulting
Design Services
Projects
Contact Us
Also, they want an area on the home page for introductory text, and bulletet news items.
Colors
The client is open to your ideas, but since this is a pool company, blue and green are probably safe bets. Be creative!
One idea they do seem to like is a different dominant color for each tab. For example, see http://www.pulmgroup.com and http://www.usaswimming.org
Keeping that in mind, you may want to post 2 variations of your design -- one of the home page, and one of another interior page on a different tab.
Logo
The company logo may be found here: http://www.aquattica.com/images/Aqu…Logoii.gif. I'm working on getting a vector format, but until then, run with this. (If anyone wants to give me a quote for a quick GIF to .ai Vector conversion, PM me.)
Also, a link to USA Swimming needs to appear on the home page as well. Their logo can be found here: http://www.usaswimming.org/USASWeb/…S/logo.gif
Header
The client would like to incorporate photos into the header of each major tab that are representative of that area or concept. Bright, attractive, swimming or pool related photos will probably get the best reception...
Images
The client might like to see these images on their homepage as well. Possibly in a fading slideshow. Possibly worked in alongside the content where appropriate, etc. Be creative.

Timeframe
I've set the contest timeframe for one week, but the early bird will definitely get the worm on this job. If the client sees a design they like tomorrow, they will jump on it, so don't hesitate if you want in on this contest. I will end the competition when the client gets a design they like.
Feedback / Questions
I will offer timely and honest feedback as quickly as possible. In general I like to give the client one batch of designs to look at each morning, then have them give me feedback that day. So, you can expect feedback on most business days within 24 hours.
Please, let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you, and I look forward to the great designs that I know you'll come up with!
*** IMPORTANT NOTE ***
Due to the Christmas Holiday, there's going to be a gap in feedback. The client will be out of town on vacation until Wednesday morning. I've asked that he give me feedback on everything presented thus far, but I will not have feedback on any new designs presented from this point forward until Wednesday.
As a result, I'm extending the deadline as well.
Merry Christmas!
