What we would like from the crowd sourcing would be the front cover illustration to our magazine, alongside four further illustrations for each of our in-depth dossier articles on social media. The illustrations would have to be done by the same designer as they would need to all be done in the same style.
The candidate will firstly design an illustration, and whoever we choose will then go on to design the rest of the illustrations via private correspondence with us. The last illustration to be done by the candidate will be the cover.
The instructions for the first design are:
1. The first article is about crowdsourcing. The illustration should reflect how companies are sourcing ideas using the wisdom of the crowd. The article deals specifically with questions of governance and control, noting that until now most companies have been mainly experimenting with crowdsourcing, but increasingly they will need to come up with clearer policies for managing it internally, or else they may decide to rely on external mediators. Either way, they will need some guidelines or policies in place, which at the moment are lacking.
We want the illustration to be hand-drawn, not black or with too many dark colours, and ideally it would have a variety of details and different textures.
