I would like a illustration of a poem I wrote turn into a motivational poster/canvas art. The illustration needs to be in vector format because this will go on canvases ranging from 20 in x 24 in to 60 in x 60 in. Make sure that the illustration's broader allows space for a frame. Meaning none of the art work's important features should be near the edge of the canvas (i.e. the title of the poem). I would like you to read the poem and then vividly illustrate what comes to your head. Your creativity has free reign but I would like to suggest a few ideas. This is a spiritual poem about a pottery maker (The Potter being God) so if there were hands forming a simple pot with other extravagant pots of gold and jewelry sitting on shelves or near by would flow with the poem. The picture can be in however many colors you feel is necessary to communicate the idea. Please don't use any religious symbols in the illustration. The style should be realistic. The logo should be in the bottom right hand corner. This poster is going to target 18 to 30 year olds.
This is the Poem
Before I Dry
This world is steadily trying to mold M.E.
Into shapes it would like to see
But never happy with the outcome
So it's constantly trying to change M.E.
Life can be so touchy
With its hands all over M.E.
Pushing and pulling
Until I fit into society
I'm trying not to be
Something I'm not
My will is still wet
But this oven is hot
Other pots are a sight to behold
and glitter like gold
High on society's shelf
But little old M.E.
still enduring scorching degrees
determined to stay wet
So God can have the last press, last pat, last squeeze
Before I Dry
The first picture is an example of what NOT to do. The title is to close to the border so if a frame was added it would cover the title. This frame is 20 in x 24 in. You can also use royalty free pictures as your illustration that you can't find every where on the internet. I don't want the same picture as everyone else with different writing. Attached are examples of real good simple pictures that get the idea across really good and quick. Since this is longer than a short message you must get the customer excited to read the whole poem/message, so you must creatively include the words in your illustration. The anchor and the wolf are good examples to keep in mind. The parent throwing the child is what NOT to do because it makes it feel like a chore to read the poem instead of being excited to read it. The winner of this contest will be consider for future illustrations for one-on-one projects.
