Western Beaucoup Wine Estates - first wine release sub-title "Followup"
The first wine release will be a Chardonnay 2009 from vineyards at Mount Barker, Western Australia.
In this instance our company will use a sub-title below the company name which will change as each new variety and vintage is released. Thus a series of ‘pictures’ will be used to depict each new sub-title creating interest and a distinctive look for consumers. All of these subsequent names will also end in the suffix ‘up’.
The Australian Aboriginal peoples of South Western Australia used words ending in ‘up’ to indicate a ‘place of’. There are 50 towns in the south west of Western Australia that end in ‘up’. Examples are Manjinup meaning the ‘place of edible root’; Badgebup means ‘place of wild rushes’; and Kojuup means a ‘place of South West stone’.
The concept of this wine label is to do a gently humorous take (however see later) on the use of towns ending in ‘up’ which dot the many vineyard regions.

You are not designing a wine label. You are designing the graphic to go with the label. While quite flexible, the working area on the label will be roughly 50mm high and 50mm wide.
The design may be a wry to humorous depiction of the topic, or a simple drawing. It may not be humorous at all. It can be in colour or black and white. It can be cartoon like or a quickly drawn free-hand sketch. It is to be what you visualise the word to mean and likely will have nothing to do with wine. It may make the purchaser smile, it may make them curious but at least should prick their interest.
