Silo will fill a unique niche in the Downtown Los Angeles drinking market. The primary objective is to establish a hip, relaxing, and inviting neighborhood bar. The marketing strategy for the bar focuses primarily on low cost high quality drinks and a regular local clientele. Silo will serve the new burgeoning loft community by providing an alternative to the high-priced mixology spots that dot downtown - a vodka bar.
Positioned at 7th and Broadway, Silo is one block from the most densely populated corner in the city. Focusing on locals has been proven in the neighborhood before by others and it makes sense for us. Silo will feature 20 low priced fresh infusion cocktails, as well as an education on vodka in simple terms that encourages tasting and fun. Silo’s other marketing approach focuses on creating a copy written Period Table of Vodkas that gives brands an easy way to spend marketing dollars at the venue.
Silo will be a neighborhood watering hole for Los Angeles County fastest growing neighborhood - Historic Downtown LA. With over 40,000 residents within a 10 block radius and over 7,000 within walking distance. These new urban dwellers have additional spending cash and are more likely to go out on a regular basis for drinks then their peers who have to drive. Silo is also located within a 7 minute cab ride to USC. This west coast private college focus on a Greek system that encourages drinking and has one of the highest per capita average leisure spending of any college in the country, these kids are rich and they love to party.
Silo will seat 88 patrons on two levels. The mezzanine will seat 25 and the lower lounge will seat 63. Of the downstairs seating 15 of those seats will be on the outdoor patio. With the amazing weather almost year round, outdoor seating has become a staple of a successful Historic Downtown bar. Floor to ceiling glass fronts will allow people to see what’s going on inside and make Silo inviting. The ambiance inside will be relaxing, and inviting with modern lounge furnishings and low music. Projectors and screens will feature a tour through Silo’s Periodic Table of Vodkas and light advertising from sponsors. The restrooms will feature historic photos of the neighborhood and be kept clean and easily accessible.
Customer service will be a cornerstone of Silo. With such a small venue, staff will be kept to a minimum to provide consistency to the experience. A personal tasting chart for regulars inside will help staff remember names, and guide customers through the complete Silo experience over many visits. This is the place where everyone knows your name.
Drinks will focus on vodka and fresh infusions. We are a PURIST Bar, not a mixology bar. Silo will also have three or four varieties of all other major spirits, including wine and beer. Block of ice shot holders and display items for purchases of 4 and 8 shots will help up sell our main product.
We are looking for a logo for Silo.
This logo will be displayed on all marketing materials and signage. As well as being branded in ice on our shot blocks.
Get creative!!! We want the logo to be inviting and memorable. It should help achieve the objectives stated above. Our interior is sleek and modern but we don't want our logo to be douchy or intimidating. Before you send us a logo, ask if it would work in Vegas, if the answer is yes, it's not right for us. Stay away from Martini Glasses in the logo design.
