We are intrested in designing our first set of flash cards for kids. We would like 20 cards total but, for purposes of not wasting anyone's time, at first please design 3-5 cards that we can see and if we like them, we will comment during the contest and then the finalists can create the full set from which we will choose the winner.
Please take a look at the deisgn of our blog and the samples of graphics, patterns and fonts that we like below. Illustrations should be in line with the look and feel of our blog.
Winner will need to submit separate files for the patterns, font and illustrations so we can mix and match them in printing.
These cards will be marketed to younger kids, so the illustrations and the font with the words should be the star. The background patterns should add to the overall appeal of the card and be different for each one. Pattern examples can be found in the design of our blog (chevron, polka dot, stripes, etc.)
Each card should consist of:
- One side with large lettering and a simple, yet visually enticing background pattern (pattern should not distract from the word)
- Other side with one simple illustration (for example: an elepahnt) with the same pattern background as the other side of the card (pattern should not distract from the illustration)
The 20 cards that we are looking to create are:
- Dump Truck
- T-Rex Dinosaur
- Non-scary looking monster or alien
- Football, Baseball, Soccerball
- Tiara or Crown
- Cat or Kitten
- Dog or Puppy
- Tea Cup with Saucer
- Killer Whale
This will be the first set in a future series, so ultimately we are looking to build a lasting realtionship with a designer to come up with more sets, books, etc.
