Penny a Mile
Penny a Mile is a startup not for profit dedicated to fundraising through outdoor/adventure activities. Target audience is the adventure/outdoor/fitness community.
Colors that seem to be in outdoor/active logos. Blues, grays, purples, white, black, greens, yellows, etc. Would love designers to make suggestions. I want convey the outdoors and activity.
Here are my initial thoughts. Want the logo to incorporate the outdoors - mountains, trees, rivers, snow, sunshine, etc. Also would like it to have a person engaged in an activity, like backpacking, to enforce the "Penny a Mile" theme. Thinking a "classic" logo design might be a solid direction.
Penny a Mile started with the idea of people donating 1 cent per mile for a long walk/hike, such as the Appalachian Trail (2180 miles), to benefit their charities of choice. I would like the design to convey the outdoors, the idea of adults helping kids/focus on kids, and hope. I added some sketches I drew, but I am obviously not a designer. I love to see new ideas with similar concepts, or just new, better ideas!
Also, in the past couple of days, I have started thinking that the image needs to be a little rugged, as it is a charity built around people who are adventure/outdoor folks, so activity and the outdoors is a core theme.
Thanks in advance for your insight and help to create this brand!!!
I am beginning to settle into more of a vision. Mountains, rivers, kayaking, climbing, bicycling, hiking, and ultra running all come to mind as outdoor/adventure themes that could be used to raise money by asking for donations based on distance or some other factor. So, the website should have that kind of theme at its core.
Landing page - Logo displayed, with a big outdoor picture laid across the screen. Could be a carousel with sever, rotating action or outdoor "vista" shots. At the top, or somewhere prominent, email collection mechanism (popup or just prominently displayed), social media "like" / "follow" buttons.
Donation page - More outdoors pictures but maybe of parents walking with kids or something else that conveys altruism, compassion, and empathy. I am not sue what kind of donation collection capability there is, but it would be cool if it was on there.
"Who are we?" page that describes Penny a Mile - Possible Test for the Page: "Have you always wanted to go on an adventure, but have never been able to justify it to yourself? What if that personal adventure could be used to help others? Well, now it can!! Penny a Mile can help you turn your personal dream into something that gives back!!"
FAQ Page - Nice outdoor/adventure oriented picture at the top, but a basic FAQ page would be good. this will be a page for people to get answers to their basic questions about how everything works and other information.
Contact Page - Allow the user to contact Penny a Mile with any questions they may have. Free form text box. Email to: Contact@PennyaMile.org Nice outdoor pic as the background.
