Shawangunk Wine Trail
The Shawangunk Wine Trail is located in the Hudson River Valley Wine Region and is home to the Oldest Winery in America, the oldest vineyard in America and is the least recognized wine region in New York. We are looking for a progressive, fun, abstract image to help us virally promote our organization. Our organization "The Shawangunk Wine Trail" is a mouthful, not easy to spell or remember, so we've decided to shorten it as a tag phrase and use the word "Gunk" as the root word for many of our spin off ideas. "get gunked" We are a collection of diverse wineries which host 4 annual events per year. The purpose of our organization is to sell tickets to our events and bring visitors to the region to explore the individual wineries and see what our wine region has to offer. Wine is FUN and we want our logo to represent that.
Our target audience is quite diverse, ranging from 21 year old new wine drinkers, to 70 year old wine drinkers. Of course, we are looking to tap into the demographic of wine consumers, which is women 30-50 years old, but we also want to appeal to the gentlemen.
We want to see all of YOUR ideas. We want abstract. We don't want to see pigeon-hole the grape cluster as our logo. We'd like to perhaps use a barrel, or a stick figure holding a glass of wine, coming out of a barrel, the letter "G" upper or lower case, the work gunk, gunked, gunky, funky, you get the idea. Some key words given by some of our board members: simple, upbeat, abstract, fun, educational, friendly, interesting, surprising, relaxing, agricultural, beautiful, diverse, high quality, rewarding, evolving, influential, flavor, culture, historical, roots, iconic. The name of our Wine Trail is derived from the Shawangunk Mountain Ridge. We'd also like to emphasize the Hudson River, as it's the most widely recognized body of water in our area. The contrast of the Hudson River Valley and the Shawangunk Ridge is what makes a beautiful, diverse, and picturesque backdrop for our wineries
