The Stevens Dramatic society was founded in 1910 on the Stevens Institute of Technology campus in Hoboken, NJ. We have been putting on shows for the last hundred years or so and would like a logo which reflects both our traditions and our modern technological aptitude. Stevens Institute of Technology was founded in 1870. It is one of the leading technological universities in the nation.
This logo will be used on a banner to promote our organization on campus, on our letterheads and advertisements, on our website, and incorporated onto a coat of arms. The look should be sufficiently professional to be adapted to both on and off campus uses.

Feel free to step outside the themes already in the website. We are in the process of redesigning our webspace and would like the logo to be the centerpiece in this design.

It would be nice if the design was related in some way to Stevens. Some common symbols of Stevens include:
The Edwin A. Stevens building: http://www.stevens.edu/sit/admissio…tevens.jpg and http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallyg/2607384998/
The Torch Bearers: The huge equestrian statue of a naked rider on a horse being passed a flaming torch from a fallen runner was sculpted by the American artist, Anna Hyatt Huntington. It is the largest cast aluminum sculpture in the world. It is on the great lawn east of the library. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallyg/179757549/
The Gatehouse: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallyg/179447276/
The Cannon at Castle Point: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallyg/179753919/
Don't feel that you must include one of these, but if I mention that the design doesn't feel like it relates to Stevens, I'll probably suggest that you take a look at one of these.
