We're a new software consulting company that is focusing on solutions for the federal government. Our goal is to try and change the way government projects work by taking a more agile approach. We want to appear new, young and fresh, but still need to have a bit of a conservative logo considering our target customer base. The name uberether was thought of by our founder as ether is a chemistry binding agent and uber is obviously the best. Uberether stands to try and bond our customers with the best approaches and solutions for their target problems. Our website will likely be based on one of the themes from RocketTheme's demo site (http://demo.rockettheme.com/wordpress/) since we have an account there. Our target services are around identity, security, web services and cloud management. We're not looking to build a billion dollar business, just a group of 10-15 passionate people who really want to change the way government software solutions are deployed. We're still trying to come up with / decide if we need a tagline, feel free to experiment or make suggestions for us. Just make sure we can pull it out / change it if we don't like it.
Federal government customers and Fortune 500 companies
(We kinda agree with the stock template that 99 designs provides)
1. No Cartoons - not cheap or childlike our customers are the federal government
2. Nothing too elegant - we do not want to come across as being fancy. We want to be different from the stodgy companies we are going against. If it has a seal like any major government logos its definitely out
3. The typeface should be clear, simple and bold. We want something that stands out. Again being careful not to be too fancy.
4. We would prefer a more linear design. Something like this (http://99designs.com/logo-design/store/19391) or (http://99designs.com/logo-design/store/10333) is preferred. Versus a more vertical design like this (http://99designs.com/logo-design/store/223). Not saying the winner won't be vertical, if you have something you really think would be interesting we'd definitely consider it.
Please feel free to experiment with colors!
