We're a young, fresh and fast moving business. The logo should reflect this in a way that is not too 'out there'.

While there is a large youth presence (under 30s), the logo should not focus towards the younger market; but rather be something that everyone can relate to. By everyone we mean everyone from your 16 year old school kid to a 50 year old business executive.
The logo must be simple, yet ooze a cool factor that makes it stand out just a tad.
Bold, strong coloring is a must. The colors need to shout 'hey, this is brand is trustworthy'
Logos that feel 'web 2.0 ish' are things we would like.
Don't want to have ".COM.AU" in the logo anywhere.
