The Common Market

The Common Market is a social enterprise. We are a nonprofit working to re-connect our region's family farms with institutions and the communities they serve. Our primary function is local food distribution to hospitals, public and private schools, universities, restaurants and retailers. We also operate a farm to workplace CSA (The Common Market Farm Share) to bring local farm food directly to consumers who are employed at regional businesses. We work to create positive change in the food system by creating access to fair market prices for our rural producers while making the regional bounty accessible to our institutional customers. We have a multi-faceted audience: customers (including food service directors, chefs, wellness coordinators, institutional leadership, and end consumers) as well as funding partners.

Inspiration de design
In the past, we've had three logos: Common Market, Delaware Valley Grown (a retail brand of Common Market), and Delaware Valley Farm Share (a program of Common Market). We have recently updated our brand hierarchy to reflect our nationwide expansion, and to make our farm share program a more direct extension of Common Market. Our new naming convention reflects this change. We are now The Common Market (national umbrella brand) and each affiliate location has its own geographic specifier: The Common Market Georgia and The Common Market Philadelphia. Our farm share program is now The Common Market Farm Share.
We are interested in a logo that has a similar look and feel as our previous Delaware Valley Grown seal. The Common Market Farm Share logo attached is the idea we are going for, but we would like it to be more professionally executed. Specifically we would like it to read as a seal and be more cohesive with less white space around the circle. We are open to other fonts and altering the size and shape of the other design elements. Ideally we could use the same logo interchangeably for our affiliate locations and our farm share program by changing the wording in the banner.
Our distinguishing brand attributes:
1. Trusted - we have exceeded the industry standard in food safety and we a reliable source of wholesale local foods)
2. Exclusively local - the foods we procure are source-identified from regional producers
3. Sustainable - we only work with farmers who use methods that are good for the environment, provide fair working conditions and humane treatment of animals.
4. Regional Impact - We are working to create health and wealth in the communities we serve.
