Open Dining Network; http://www.opendining.net
We're a small group of web developers that believe online food ordering should be easier than it currently is, for everybody: consumers, restaurants, and developers. We created a web service platform that uses open REST APIs to facilitate order creation and submission. Basically, anybody can use our APIs to search the network and order food.
Why is this so cool? Consumers can use a single app on their computer or mobile phone to find nearby food, instead of going to each restaurant's app or web site. Developers that make stuff for restaurants can plug our network right in to enable ordering, instead of writing all that functionality from scratch. Restaurants can easily upload their menu to us and immediately take orders on the web and through mobile devices.
We believe things should be simple and intuitive, with no monkey business. For example, we offer upfront per-order pricing instead of some complicated pricing model. We're looking for a logo that helps communicate what we provide (the network) and the principles that we stand on.
We're going for mass appeal. Our brand will be seen by consumers as they complete and pay for their orders, as well as restaurants and developers that use the network.
In particular, we must appeal to the restaurants that list their menus on our service. That encompasses a large number of people and businesses, though.
We don't have very specific requirements in mind. The logo must convey professionalism and trust, because it will be shown as consumers complete their orders. Think of PayPal; same general idea.
We need both print and web formats. If you can restrict the color usage, that'd probably save us headaches come printing time, but if the extra colors make it extra awesome, then that's cool. We also will be sending faxes with this, so ideally it would look presentable (but at least legible) when sent over B/W fax.
If anything is unclear, please let us know!
