Slick, professional, simple, and modern, web 2.0 style is nice, but not too overboard with the shadows, gradients, and reflections. Again, the site will be e-commerce, so it's important not to take attention away from the product. The Tango! Linux Icon Li

Import Costumes is a forthcoming costume site on the WWW. We are specializing in extremely price competitive costumes with a very large selection of product for every costume need.
The name - Import Costumes - is meant to symbolize 'value' and 'low cost', it implies that we are importing our costumes directly from the factory for immediate resale (which is what our business model actually is).

I would like to do a reddit-like concept with the logo ( http://reddit.com/static/spreddit/a…e2007.html ), not a daily affair but a logo that changes based on costume seasonality + holidays (Christmas/St. Patty's/Halloween/Easter/etc) and then reverts to the plain 'ol logo during downtime (think google). So for the winner there is also the possibility of residual 'logo tweak work'.
As of right now I'm interested in a catchy, modern, and slick logo, but with minimal gradients and possible very subtle reflection. I would also like a version of the main logo to act as a seasonal logo (Christmas/Halloween/etc) to gauge the illustrative skills of the designer. Nothing fancy, again use reddit as the standard.
I am planning on running this contest for two weeks and I'm looking for a quick turnaround. Winner will be paid the prize promptly, and I expect the winner to deliver the TTF font files used, a vector version, and color palette for the final logo. Please keep in line with the colors used in the layout screenshots. Found here: http://kylebradshaw.com/files/ic-dev/
Also, it's important that the main logo element can be used as a favicon, so logo scalability is also very important. Ultimately the main component of the logo should be able to stand on it's own and be immediately recognizable.
I will check in on the contest daily, and try and offer as detailed feedback as possible, as quickly as possible.
Thanks in advance to all of those that participate, and looking forward to seeing all of, and choosing one of, your designs!
