Hi, I've been operating since 2002 with the same logo - it's not a bad logo, but looks a little flat now and doesn't really reflect what we do. Please help me to update it!
Plastic Box
This is our current logo:
http://www.plasticbox.co.uk/mainlogo.gif
At the moment it doesn't really reflect what we are which is:
- A website design company
- A friendly company that doesn't speak jargon
- A professional company
- A modern company
An outline of us: we provide quality websites to small/medium sized businesses. Our websites are valued at between £750-£2000. We have a friendly approach and do not speak jargon - we ensure that everything is "geek free".
Previously the logo was a light blue, which worked quite well, but the orange (that we adopted in 2006) has worked really well and stands out nicely (and it seems since then everyone has gone orange!). I'm happy to stay orange, but interested to see other suggestions of colours.
At the moment the logo doesn't have "web design" on it - again, interested to see variations of logos with and without "web design" on it. Equally, I'd be interested to see version with .co.uk at the end - our website address is http://www.plasticbox.co.uk.
The website will be re-designed following the new logo, so please do not feel it has to "fit in" to the current site. If you can provide something in this logo that provides a nice theme for the new site, even better!
- Variations of the following:plastic box
plasticbox.co.uk
plastic box (with Web Design underneath)
plasticbox.co.uk (with Web Design underneath).
One graphic element to go with it - I like the box as it reflects our name, but I'd be interested to see if you can convey "internet" without it looking geeky/technical!
Should be approachable/warm looking - not cartoony - but not too corporate.
The choice of font is the most important aspect - I believe the logo will still rely on the font more than the image. Please ensure that I can easily get access to the font as I need to use it in future designs. The current font is Century Gothic, which now looks a little dated!
Please try and keep it longer than it is higher - it's easier for adding to websites etc.
The logo has always been lower case - I do prefer it that way but if you like your example looks better with a capital letter at the begining of each word, feel free to try and convert me :)
BTW this isn't only for screen - this will get printed on invoices etc!
Please also provide 2 other colours that will compliment the logo that I can use within the new website/marketing materials.
The logo must be a vector format, and must be provided in a standard vector format, along with high quality jpg and png versions.
- I don't really want Web 2.0 - it's a bit obvious!
- Nothing "American" looking
- No wishy washy pastel colours - nice strong colours please.
- Strong graphical element that could be used alone without the text.
