Blu Dot Tech is a mobile application start-up based in New York City. We're looking to change the way people connect through their location-aware mobile devices.
Blu Dot Tech will be launching new location-based mobile applications in 2011 for the iPhone, Droid, and Blackberry. Our first consumer app for professional networking will launch in March. In the future, we will be launching apps that help people discover local musicians and service providers based on your location.
The name "Blu Dot" stems from the Google Maps application on the iPhone. The user's current location in Google Maps is represented by a blue dot. Also, red pushpins are used to represent items of interest nearby.
Since all of the apps built by Blu Dot Tech will leverage a user's current location, we believe this is an appropriate name for the company.

Our target customers are tech-savvy professionals in the 25-54 age group. In addition to our customers, the company will be reviewed by online media outlets (tech bloggers) and potential investors. Therefore, the logo should come across as professional and tech-savvy.
We are open to both text-based and graphic-based logos, but all logos must contain the company name "Blu Dot Tech". It should be “professional” and “elegant” rather than abstract or cartoonish. We do not want to restrict the creativity of designers, however if it makes sense, using the blue & red dots within the letters in the logo would be preferred.
Concepts to convey in the logo: Location, Technology, and Connections.
There are no restrictions on color scheme. The letters in the logo can be mixed case or all lower case.
The logo will appear on the corporate website, business cards and other stationery.
