I like sans-serif fonts. I'm looking for a logo with the words spelled out and an icon, and an alternative logo with just the acronym NGI (which maybe incorporates the icon).
We want something that can look good to a corporate audience. This is NOT a consumer brand that sells a product. We need to show professionalism, knowledge, and build trust with our donors. We also need to show that we are trying to help young people achieve something as they grow through adolescence into adulthood.
I would change the design examples originally selected for the brief if I could. I like the top row the best - Carrier Films, Crown Paint, Heritage Plaster.
There are a bunch of organizations in our space:
PLEASE LOOK AT THESE LOGOS!
http://www.splash.org/ - Like the icon.
http://www.fhi360.org/ - Corporate. Not bad.
http://www.drc.dk/home/ - Looks a little like a label for Port.
Some words that might help that we are considering are growth and community. An idea for an icon could be a tree, or some kind of representation of people in different stages of growth working together. These are ideas but do not feel tied to them. We do not need to see people in a forest or leaves growing off of people's bodies.
