We are a collection of professional directors, producers, motion designers and editors with a steady client base. The timing is right for us to get together and grow into a company with a name, logo and website. We choose the name Montagehouse from the French word montage, which the French use in film credits for editing. We believe it’s more positive and less destructive sounding then editing and we are also a montage of creative minds coming together under one roof. Please don’t use any French references in the logo. ☺
We are currently working mostly with media, PR, and advertising agencies and creatives. We want the logo to be attractive and attention grabbing to department heads in those industries located in NYC. We would also like to expand our clientele to other industries and make programming for movies, TV and commercials so please keep that in mind as well.
You could have Montagehouse to be spelled out in one word but not necessary.
Feel free to use initials MH as a focal point.
We think the logo should be clean, clear, modern, professional with an edge.
Make us look like an established, creative NYC boutique video production house that understands design, aesthetics, trends and advertising.
We would like to have something in the logo that makes us look a little more high tech, so it reflects that we work with HD, blu ray, using top notch equipment. Maybe a metallic or glossy reflection. It's hard to know until we see it.
We are working on a tag line and would like to have that incorporated with the logo. For now, you can use – Montagehouse "Productions". If you have an idea of a great tag line you can use that.
Please keep in mind that we’re not sure if we are going to have a lighter or darker background on the website so it should be easily readable on both, we might flash animate it as well.
Please don’t use filmstrips, film reels, film projectors or scissors, roofs or houses unless you have a really fresh, thinking out of the box idea.
If you are using an object or shape, try to use one that hasn’t been used so much but still has a strong link to the work we do and at the same time distinguishes us from “art” montage to “video or film” montage. It would be great if that could be done in an innovative way.
Other than that go wild, go with your guts and have fun with it!!!
We will probably launch a website contest after this so if you, the winner knows web design as well, you might have one up on that too.
