SNAP
We are the largest research group in Computer Science at Stanford University. SNAP stands for "Stanford Network Analysis Project" -- most of our research revolves around graphs (e.g., social networks, molecular networks, etc.) leveraging advanced techniques in Machine Learning and Data Mining.
You can see our current logo (and read more about us) on http://snap.stanford.edu
This logo will be the stepping stone on which we will build our revamped design (PowerPoint template, website, etc.)
The main logo should accommodate 3 variations, respectively "library", "datasets", and "group". Each one corresponds to one main area of our website, respectively a software library, a large collection of datasets, and the description of our research group.
The variations can be produced towards the end of the contest, but we wanted to clarify this ASAP, so you can keep it in mind during your creative process!
In attachment you can find a recent slidedeck from the head of the group, so you can also see our current PowerPoint template.
