We are looking for a simple, modern, easily recognizable logo that makes a clean break from our previous branding.
If possible, it should communicate our focus on human rights in Southeast Asia and the uniqueness of our membership made up of parliamentarians from around the region. However, we greatly appreciate creative abstractions on those themes, particularly if they simplify any pictorial mark associated with the logo.
The logo should not be overly detailed. It should be limited to two or three colors maximum. No human figures, hands, or other cliché images often associated with community-based nonprofits. It should be bold and evoke the seriousness of the organization’s mission—safeguarding human rights in a region that often ignores them.
The logo should also communicate the concept that APHR is a brave, progressive, and open-minded group, ready to challenge stereotypes and norms, as well as entrenched inequalities.
We are hoping for a versatile logo—one that can exist as a standalone pictorial mark, with our initials (APHR), or next to or above the full organization name. It should also look good when printed in black and white and exist in formats suitable for screen and printed viewing.
Please see the attached files for examples of logos we like.
We encourage creativity and look forward to your submissions.
**Please also note: We are not formally affiliated with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and therefore, to avoid confusion, we do not want the ASEAN logo incorporated into our logo design. Likewise, we do not want the "ASEAN" part of the name to be larger or more prominent than the "Parliamentarians for Human Rights," which is equally, if not more, important.
**Please also note: We are interested in seeing logos that incorporate a map of Southeast Asia.
