The Health and Safety Training Center at The University of Texas at Austin provides safety, health and compliance training to various individuals and companies spanning the following industries: mining, construction, general industry (electrical, welding, etc), first aid/CPR, safety professional certification prep courses. Safe production is our priority as we work to prevent on-the-job injuries, accidents and fatalities across Texas, the United States and internationally.
The Health and Safety Training Center has provided safety and health compliance training to the Texas mining industry for over twenty-five years at The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout the years the name has evolved and was most recently known as the Texas Mine Safety and Health Program. For the past twenty-five years, the program has operated as a federally-funded grant program under the Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). As a grant funded program, the Texas Mine Safety and Health Program was responsible for providing safety and health training and a variety of other services to improve the conditions of mine safety and health within Texas.
The target audience for this particular center are workers within the mine and construction industries, which also includes safety and EMS individuals. The tone should be more masculine as the field is predominately men, and incorporates all elements (or focus industries) Included within the design.
