Hana Grill is a quick service Japanese restaurant based in Los Angeles. We have 2 locations, with a third opening soon in Newport Beach.
You can find our website for our menu at: http://www.hanagrill.com
Our average ticket is around $10-13. Our biggest items are bowls and rolls.
Our locations are primarily in food courts, but we are a step above restaurants like Panda Express, Sabarros, La Salsa.
Our competitors would include Stone Oven, Veggie Grill, Panera Bread, Chipolte and Johnnie Rockets.
Just FYI- Hana means flower in Japanese. Also there is a Road to Hana in Hawaii, and in Korean it is the counting number 1.
Our customer base shop at high end malls. A typical mall would have either a Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, or Saks Fifth Avenue. Our customers are used to eating Japanese food and could distinguish between quality and run-of-the-mill sushi rolls.
Please no more logos with fishes or bowls!
Please use the attached files as reference only. I would like to see you modify the file rather than just copy it.
Logo will be used in the following capacities:
1. Signage - Primarily Horizontal
5. Cups, napkins, chopstick cover
As there are a lot of printing applications involved, using many colors needs to be well thought out. For example, in the case of to-go bags, 1 color may be max as the bag itself could be brown. Also, we need to take into account the budget as more colors = more money. We are not against multiple colors, but in certain applications, the logo may need to be reduced to 1-2 colors. As a result, the logo needs to be versatile.
Also, in terms of fonts, we prefer NOT using Japanese characters. Furthermore, please do NOT use Japanese/Asian styled fonts such as ones you would find in a typical Chinese restaurants. We are looking for something more subtle and more refined.
However a symbol, such as a flower, that can be used elsewhere (i.e. wall paper), is fine. Please refer to the website, http://www.hanagrill.com, and you can see an example of that.
Finally, in regards to direction, this part is a bit tricky as the more I write, the more I feel I am restricting creativity. I will include one particular website that caught my attention:
Again, just and idea.... Please, design without restriction, be daring, be creative. Thank you so much for your efforts, and good luck!
