Merkuro is a business start up and will be providing both online and off line marketing expertise for three target markets (see 'Target Audience') .
Our USP is that we are not a typical consultancy and have therefore deliberately left the word ‘consulting/consultancy’ out of the name. We excel in delivering sound strategy.... and prove it by working on the delivery for our clients too.
(Please submit concepts from early on so that we can give constructive feedback to ensure that we are able to identify any lack of clarity in the brief from the start).
Merkuro is the Esperanto word for Mercury. Mercury was the god of travel which reflects our international ambitions as does the choice of Esperanto as the language. We don’t expect people to know it’s Esperanto, it was really chosen to make the word indefinable and therefore cross culture/country.
Mercury is also used to measure (temperature) and our ethos is all about delivering measurable results.

The target markets are:
1. Non UK Small and Medium sized businesses who may be looking to expand into the UK
2. Non UK creative agencies who may have clients that want strategic advice on international expansion
3. UK businesses who want standard marketing products/services
The logo needs to be suitable for business stationary, online and offline media and be reproducible in B&W as well as full colour. (there is no obligation to create a four colour logo, I'd consider grayscale or B&W as the main logo, but if full colour then please bear in mind it may be reproduced in B&W (for example in press ads).
There is no previous logo for this company so there are no requirements in terms of fitting with an existing look.
Generally, I would prefer a font that is sans serif.
The logo should try and be authoritative without being overbearing or patronising
