Our company is a recently established environmental / ecological consultancy based on the Isle of Lewis (Outer Hebrides, Scotland) and covering the whole of the Outer Hebrides (island group in the north west of Scotland, UK). We undertake ecological and environmental surveys, archaeology surveys, peat surveys, water quality, bird monitoring, otter monitoring and environmental mapping / modelling. The nature of the work is varied and diverse and understanding both marine and terrestrial elements.
Target Audience is very broad, and includes local community trusts / organizations to global multinational companies seeking environmental information or guidance. The main selling point is to convey the environmental (both terrestrial and marine) focus in a simple, clean and modern way, secondary (not essential) aspects are the Outer Hebrides or Scotland based location.
We require a new logo incorporating our new company name ‘Fuaran Ltd’ which will set the tone of future branding (Fuaran is a Gaelic word).

simple linear look
like the fonts and unfussy feel and one of few designs i like with colour

it has a cool young feel without being too trendy feeling
i really love this image, stolen from a competitor, has lots of environmental elements in it but really simply and basic.
The logo may be used in a future website and set the tone for future branding, report formatting, vehicle decals, email signatures, marketing materials ranging from business cards and flyers to branding on exhibition materials e.g. pop up stands. The logo will also be incorporated into reports which will have distribution from the general public to multi-national companies so needs to be relatively simple and certainly not detailed / fussy. It should be possible to minimise the size to 2cm and still retain design features as well as enlarge to quite large sizes for exhibition stands. As the logo will set the tone of general branding, fonts and colours should be standard colour and fonts available on Microsoft Word.
