Small town just outside of Austin, TX. In famous Texas Hill Country on Lake Travis. Older generation now being replaced with younger families. It's a careful changing of the guard. The city was initially an unincorporated golf community for retired folks - albeit very rural and hidden. LV was finally incorporated in 1985. We are entering a phase of development where the new guard wants to invite tourism, businesses, recreation, youth, vitality, pride and growth, while still maintaining true to our natural resources of hills and lakes. We are close to Austin, many commute, so they are savvy as to what's in style. We need to appeal to people to move here in order to get businesses to move here. We need to finally appear to have a professional, classy branding. A clean design that can be used 4/c and 1/c is a must. Previously "branding" was a piece of sailboat clipart and nonsensical fonts - no style formats. Completely understandable when things are done free by those who didn't understand how marketing a city is important. - 99designs did a logo for us for Lago Fest (http://www.lagofest.com) and we really like it. We want to cater to people who like to come out to these types of events. You can visit the website to learn more. Again, people come out for the lake, the hills, the nature.... and the schools. There are some pretty wealthy (and famous) people hiding out here. Although you'd never know it by looking at the City. We need to spruce things up BIG TIME!

D'autres exigences de couleur
Here's what our web designer is using color wise. I'm asking her to use a warmer green. But at least this will give you an idea. Don't feel like you have to stick with ONLY these colors. Black is a good anchor.
Ok, so the color specs are:
Green - C: 78, M:0, Y:91, K:0
Yellow - C:0, M:26, Y:85, K:0
Blue - C:88, M:75, Y:0, K:0
Light Grey - C:4, M:4, Y:3, K:0

Inspiration de design
A logo that can be used with type off to side or stacked below would be nice. Then we can use on City signs or letterhead in various formats. CLEAN design. Not too busy, traditional, or funky. Open, friendly, forward. Lakes, hills. It is texas. We are Texas proud. We are Austin proud. But we don't have ranches. Current logo terrible clip art. Three other organizations in town have basically "stolen" that identity from the city. We need something they can't use as their own. Towns and organizations surrounding us use sailboats too. I've heard these words about our "logo." - It doesn't show anything about the hills. The other thing we have here that you can find every ten feet, in your yard, in your garage, eating out of your hands... is the deer population. It's the most amazing thing. We have golf. We don't have a downtown area, no historic buildings we can use to work from. So it's going to really have to be about the outdoors. For the City, we'll need the words to be solid of course. A font style that speaks to us, not just Times Roman. We are designing a new website at the moment. The tweaks are completed. I have attached a working mock up of the website in progress showing some of the fonts and colors and feel of the site. I think that's what we're going for. I'm also attaching the embarrassing "logo" the city has been using. --
