"At Straightjacket we believe that clothes have become another symbol of the many mental barriers that we constantly impose on ourselves in order to survive in our insane modern world. We use them both as facades behind which we hide our own insecurities, and as criteria to judge others by. In a consumerist society dominated by big brands, we have all become walking billboards for companies that don’t care about us as individuals, don’t care about our communities and don’t care about the environment—all they care about is short term profit, to be obtained at all costs.
Straightjacket Clothing is committed to breaking down the mental chains and looking beyond the hypocrisy of our daily routine by integrating social commentary, art and clothing to create a product that functions as an anti-propaganda device.
Our clothes are not made in sweatshops in a third-world country by slave laborers. All of our products are hand-made in Los Angeles, by skilled workers who earn a living wage that allows them to flourish in our community.
Be a part of the solution, resist propaganda!"
Logo Suggestion: Black and White for an all around logo to be used for business cards, to be cut out of vinyl using a craft plotter for clothing prints, hats, etc. Something simple, yet refined. "The Hundreds" clothing brand may serve as a good example.
