BlackDog Foundry is a small mobile application development startup that is about to be launched within the next few weeks.
We are a little different to most other mobile developers in that we don't normally build mobile applications - we build frameworks and services for other developers to use and build upon. For example, our first offering is the ability for developers to upload their databases to our server and we provide a library of code that they can embed within their application to ensure that the mobile phone devices have up-to-date data at all times. We have a number of new initiatives planned also.
Our backing company also owns and operates Voxalot (http://www.voxalot.com), which is a successful Voice over IP service. However, we are now also looking to broaden our horizons into the Mobile Application Development field.
Our team consists of three very experienced software developers (20+ years each), but we aren't some old fogeys stuck in a mainframe/COBOL world. We live and breathe new technology, and are constantly on the hunt for the next technology that is going to set the world on fire.

Mobile phone (iphone, android and symbian) developers, whether individual or development houses, are our primary market. The vast majority of our customers will be young, energetic, creative software developers.
We are definitely targeting the young, tech-savvy application entrepreneurs to build their applications upon our service.
While not our primary market, we also expect that there will also be larger businesses/corporates that would be wanting us to provide a white-label version of our service.
I'll be honest and say that our requirements are fairly open.
I definitely see a black dog of some sort in the logo. We chose the word Foundry as we believe it indicates that we are a place to go if you want stuff made. However, the phrase "Black Dog" is probably where the emphasis should be.
