Cool Iron does not have any significance to what the company does. We like the way it sounds as a name. We also like Cool Iron because there are characteristics of cool iron that we like (vs. hot iron). Cool iron is solid and strong. We were purposely trying to avoid a name that implied a particular software specialty (e.g. mobile, apps, data, etc.).
Of the designs we chose to assess our style for this contest, we liked the Nest example best. We are looking for something clever and interesting. We are not drawn to an abstract symbol unless it conveys something meaningful. We want a simple, clear design that is not busy.
We are trying to convey modern, smart, clean, professional. Just because the logos we chose during the assessment include a sheep, lizard, bird or nest, doesn't mean we are looking for those particular images. They have meaning in the context of the original logos. We are also not looking for a clothes iron.
We will not be using the abbreviation CIS for our company. We will consider using CI in the logo.
We prefer a design without shine or reflections.
