BudgetJoy needs an app icon and promo graphics. Android and the Play Store is the target platform but an iOS version might be released in the future.
The icon needs to reflect the simplicity of the app (more features will be added in the future, but a simple UI will remain an important goal.)
The icon needs to be trustworthy. The app deals with people's finances, so it shouldn't feel like a toy, a cartoon, or a video game. However, that does not mean it should be serious and sterile.
It must not be intimidating (it should *almost* be playful). While trustworthiness and professionalism is important, BudgetJoy wants to make a normally painful or stressful topic (budgeting) easy and maybe even fun. Playful or "joyful" colors would be acceptable if done tastefully.
It must have some sense of depth but not be overly glossy. Flat UI is in, and the icon should not look out of place.
The target is Android, but it should be easily made appropriate for iOS. According the Android design UI guidelines, a unique outline (ie not bounded by rounded rectangle) is desired. The background for Android should be transparent. If it is easily made appropriate for iOS (perhaps by adding a tile) that would be ideal.
It may be okay to include the letters "BJ" or the word "BudgetJoy", but that is uncertain.
Please submit sizes appropriate for Android (including the 512x512), the vector images, and also a 1024x1024 version.
The promo graphics should be suitable for the Play store, be compelling, and be cohesive with the icon. Google asks for a larger image 1024 w x 500 h and a smaller image 180 w x 120 h.
The transparent background should look acceptable with the gray of the play store.
The existing app is mostly unstyled. This may change in the future but right now the color scheme is what it is. Feel free to go in a different direction for the icon and graphics.
See screenshots and the placeholder icon here:
The existing placeholder icon was trying to mimic and smiley face with the letters "B" and "J". It's possible a skilled designer could pull this off (and the results might be great!), but don't feel obligated to try.
Please submit vector illustrations as well as the final renderings for sizes above.
