This non-profit organization is for the purpose of providing education, professional resources, and social support to women who have lost their spouses. We primarily achieve our purpose through our website (http://www.TheWidowsJourney.org) and through a monthly Seminar Series that we plan to start in the fall. The website provides information and also has a resource page that will feature interviews with professionals and widows. The Seminar Series will alternate topics between the interior (emotional) and exterior (financial/administrative) issues that a widow faces.
Qu'est-ce qui vous inspire et comment imaginez-vous le design de votre entreprise?
We'd like an icon that we can use for lapel pins, t-shirts and other purposes, including on our website when we discuss the different phases of widowhood. The butterfly would represent the final Growth phase, and we'd use a caterpillar to represent the immediate phase and the crysalis to represent the transition from immediate to growth. We'd like the icon to state that we are a charitable cause (think Susan Komen's pink ribbon) and that we represent women going through a life transition (we think the butterfly best represents this).
We have a few sketches (see attachment) but don't feel like we're quite there yet. We like the idea of the butterly being on a ribbon because it immediately says that we're a cause. We think the color should be something that represents growth/transition, but don't think the two greens here are quite right. (We don't want the color to be black, which would be more representative of the widow in the immediate stage, as we're focused on her journey back to full health.) We want the butterfly to represent "movement" and feel that this is best illustrated by #3 and #4 but are afraid that you may not be able to tell that it is a butterfly when it is shrunk down to a lapel pin size. We prefer #5 & #6 to #s 1 & 2, because we don't want it to look too much like clip art, but also feel that #5 and #6 look a little too much like the jr. high science project where you collected butterfly species and then penned them to felt for show and tell! We're in agreement that we like the cut of the ribbon to be like #3 and #4.
