Qui sommes-nous ?
We advocate for the rights of male students on Kennesaw State University. We practice independent journalism, lobbying and activism for the purposes of building a more equitable campus. KSU is merging with Southern Polytechnic State U, which meshes the techie, business and nursing crowds from both schools. Target audience is full of 20-something, energetic college students who love music and fun.

Please experiment with the use of the Mars symbol, and Google Kennesaw State University graphics to see if there is a way to combine the Mars symbol and those visuals (i.e. owls). DOs: * DO be bold. The brand identity is meant to spur passionate discussion on sight. * DO make a composition that is readable on both large and small formats. * DO be sure that every element of your composition contributes in some way to your intended message. * DO experiment with pictographs and abstract shapes, but be sure to relate it to the organization in an obvious and meaningful way. * DO ask me real questions if something is not clear. Silent designers, or designers that just go "feedback plz" come off as unprofessional pixel pushers who don't know what they are doing. I want someone who tries to genuinely understand the brand, and who can articulate specific questions to get to know his or her clients. * DO prefer sans-serif fonts. If you use a serif font, it is because you had to do so to make your design work. DON'Ts: 1. DON'T use shock value. 2. DON'T make contrived use of negative space. 3. DON'T add unclear abstract elements. If I have to think about what your logo means, it won't be accepted. 4. DON'T spam your design if I say I like it. It comes of as desperate, and will result in disqualification. If you must show multiple versions of a composition, show them all in your FIRST submission of an ORIGINAL design, and then LEAVE IT BE. 5. DON'T set proportions to make "KSU" much bigger than "Men" in the logo. You are not promoting a school, you are promoting an organization inside the school. Don't shrink the part of the logo that distinguishes the brand. 6. DON'T give me a design surrounded by a border, or that resembles a shotgun shell. Boxy designs look lazy. 7. DON'T just style text for the sake of styling text. That looks like you put no thought into the design, but instead are just tossing spaghetti on the wall hoping something will stick. Make EVERY visual aspect contribute to a single message. Many designs will be eliminated early, but do not take this personally. Every bit of feedback helps everyone learn what KSU Men is looking for, and therefore increases your chance of creating a winning submission!
