This project is for a Logo and Branding package. (sorry about the initial confusion)
name/tagline: Minutemen Network (org). "I am minutemen" (I am ready in a minute), or open to ideas.
A Non profit organization to launch in USA first, with worldwide plan.
The Minutemen Network will go LIVE this Independence Day, July 4th 2016.
Logo & Branding ideas:
We are thinking about the image of a single person, maybe silhouette, with “I am Minutemen” (the call to action, tagline) and “Minutemen Network” (the organization name). It’s your choice the arrangement, order, style or adding your own inspiration.
- Overall branding: Minutemen are everyday people, men and women. Be inspired by our heritage, our history, what makes us American and our God given right to be free.
* We need ads and promotional materials to get started. This is not required as part of the contest details, but if you have some ideas and want to provide ads with the final design, we would appreciate it :-)
- Social media promotions/ads to help spread word.
- Lifestyle images/ads for a website
*** Background information ***
What is the Minutemen Network?
The tales of Minutemen have been told in bedtime stories for hundreds of years since the last reported activation of a Minuteman in late 1700’s. These stories of brave Minutemen range from people performing selfless acts for complete strangers, to taking up arms when necessary and continue to ring through our history. The modern-day “Minutemen Network” will network and empower everyday people regardless of their race, gender, age or religion, in the spirit of American freedom and heritage, with the goal of protecting our families, friends and neighbors from both domestic and foreign threats, through a network of like-minded individuals. The Minutemen Network connects people needing help, with people who are “ready in a minute” and willing to help. Taking up arms will probably not be the everyday happening but it's much more likely that roadside help, amber alerts, severe weather updates, and neighborhood watches will be much more common. The Minutemen Network gives every person access to real time information and user submitted surveillance (pictures and video) updates. The Minutemen Network will inspire the American spirit of community and “giving back”.
A Google style map will be the primary interface for users. “Alerts” are color coded by category of severity, and showing at the exact location on the map. Your position is automatically determined by your mobile device location. You have the ability to change your location by moving the map, and receive alerts for that new area. You receive alerts based on where you are right now, whether at home, on vacation or driving down the road.
An elderly lady with a flat tire can easily get assistance from someone driving by that is ready, and wanting to help. A dangerous environment or situation such as severe weather, natural disaster, or physical assault can be instantly reported. A parent will have the ability to instantly get an abducted child's picture in front of hundreds or thousands of nearby people and receive real-time, lifesaving feedback from people who are monitoring and providing additional surveillance from their locations, adding to the available intelligence. First responding minutemen will instantly know the exact location of a report and access to real-time network surveillance and GPS guidance while in route, or pursuit. Minutemen Network servers can intelligently match Minutemen submitted cellphone surveillance with other incoming intelligence, tieing together common threads, allowing minutemen to track and respond nationwide if necessary. If a "False Cry" is reported, other nearby Minutemen are instantly notified to the potential threat and are provided with all relevant data/surveillance, until an "all-clear" is issued. Minutemen can increase their "community reputation" on the network by being ready, helping others and providing useful feedback on alerts. A “voting” type system will allow the community of users to promote relevant reports or flag inappropriate content. Flagged content or users may be banned/suspended. (Plans exist to respond as these as they arise)
Who Are Minuteman?
Minutemen are self funded volunteers, men and women, blue and white collar workers, nurses and police officers, employed, unemployed and business owners; everyday people who care for America and what makes this country great. Minutemen can check-in to the network when they are "ready" and monitor a Google maps type GUI, for people needing help in their area. The Minutemen Network is secured and only accessible from mobile devices, with the option of a "paired" computer for an operational command style interface. Software allows everyone with a mobile device to securely access the Minutemen Network. Upon creating an account, the user's picture is taken using the phone camera, owner information and other data is logged and married to that device. Everyone's safety and security is our number one priority. Network security, privacy and identity protection are under constant scrutiny. Experts are involved at each level and division to ensure operational success.
We have cast the vision for the Minutemen Network, it’s in your hands now! Our hope is the collective creativity of the 99designs community will birth something truly amazing, a movement to inspire a spirit of community and giving back in Americans, and to equip every person with the power to make a difference. The Minutemen Network is about the people, we wanted it designed by the people. We are proud to be American!!
*** A contest will be launched on 99designs platinum for a "website design" contest following this contest, stay tuned! Here's some info to be thinking about ***
Home page design: Showcase (or link to) the interactive Minutemen Network map. People should feel inspired to get involved.
- Call to actions
-- Join the Minutemen (integrated with countdown?)
-- Is my neighborhood protected/ready?
-- Learn more about the Minutemen Network
-- Countdown to 7/4/16
Information page design: A secondary page used for pictures, forms and other general content/copy.
Website user interface concept:
When a user first gets arrives to the website, they will see a Google maps type interface of the whole USA and a countdown timer is running to 7/4/16 when the Minutemen network goes LIVE. The website will determine the user location and narrow their view to a city/town level. User will see small circles covering the map, each representing a “minuteman” that is ready and checked in. The user will be prompted to “check-in” or “Join the Minutemen” to help cover their area. The idea is to cover the entire city with Minutemen who are “ready” at all times. Sharing the message of the Minutemen Network resulting on others joining, will increase your community reputation. Users can also increase their reputation by remaining checked in or “ready in a minute”, and responding to situations near them. Minutemen that are ready, create a safety bubble around them on the interactive map and acts as a visual indicator to everyone around that help is available. If you’re in a area with no bubble, login and be ready.
- The Minutemen Network has access to extensive programming resources, capable of just about anything needed. Please do not refrain from suggestion that may be “programming intensive”, we welcome it.
- Final design MUST be mobile responsive, or have mobile version.
- Our programming team will code the design to a custom version of “Wordpress” for CMS management.
