We are releasing a book titled "War Was My Vacation, A Book for Men". The cover (including the back and spine) needs to be bold, ironic, and interesting, and appeal to the average non-military male between the ages of 20-45- also it must pop in Amazon's Kindle store as a thumbnail and on the bookshelf. The book is 5.5x8.5. The spine is about .72"
Authors Are: Wylie McGraw & Alex Ruffino
Our readers love hearing about war stories, and need to be tricked into reading our book. What is essentially a self-help book for men, needs to come across as a bad-ass military book showing combat adventures of two combat veterans (Marine and Solider) and how war was their vacation from home. The cover needs to entice and persuade men into reading these stories based on that notion; however, the book will unfold into the realization that war was an escape from traumatic realities and experiences from childhood, and now in their civilian lives and how men can better their lives from reading these stories.
Imagery Consideration (not mandatory): U.S. Marine who utilized a MQ-9 Reaper Drone and the U.S. Solider was aboard a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters manning a M60 machine gun. Maybe some mixture of a vacation atmosphere, etc. It's important that the book pops off the shelf and catches the eye. The most important design for us is, "does it sell", versus "does it look pretty". What is important for us is that the book cover is not only ironic, but proactive and interesting.
