Blanchard Holiness Camp Meeting is an annual, week-long multi-church event. We host both night and day services each year.
The Request: We will be selling CDs of the recorded sermons during this annual event. I need a new label design which will be printed on the CDs. I only need the label which will be printed directly on the CD itself, I do not need a case or cover design.
Layout: The deliverable for this contest is a CD label background that will have the tracks printed over it. I will not know the track names until after the fact and will have to print them later over the top of the design, so the design needs to leave room for the tracks to be added. The design should allow for 1-4 tracks per disc. Each track will have to be listed with both a speaker and a title, so they will take up quite a bit of room. There are example tracks below that you can use with your design to lay out the content properly. I would like to see the sample tracks as part of the design contest, but they should not be present on the final deliverable.
Design Guidance: The design should be conservative and subtle, nothing flashy or overly crowded. Plenty of white space is not a bad thing. In my mind I think it would be cool to show an outline cross with a crown of thorns hung on the top, but that's only an idea and I'm open to alternative designs here. It would also be acceptable to use the image of a Bible instead of a cross. I want it to be simple and elegant at the same time. The design should definitely keep in line with a conservative, evangelical, christian theme. The camp meeting name "Blanchard Holiness Camp Meeting" and the year "2022" should be included in the design. I would like the year to be emphasized a little, nothing drastic. No pictures of people should be in the design. Ideally I would like a color theme to be part of the design in such a way that each subsequent year we can tweak the color a bit to set each annual recording CD apart from each other. For example, we might use a light blue this year, and next year it might be a pale orange or something. That way listeners can easily identify the year based on the color while the rest of the design will stay the same from year to year. The different annual color idea is not an absolute must, but would be preferable.
Deliverables: The final deliverable should be a vector image file that allows me to tweak the background color and the year for future events as described above while leaving the rest of the design intact. I would also like a JPG rendering of the final design. The final label should be provided as a 4.72" x 4.72" square at 300 dpi. Keep in mind the disc is round so even though the image should be square, only the disc shape will be printed and there will be a hole in the middle. We will be publishing and distributing discs with the design, so we must have full legal copyright for distribution. If you use any custom fonts as part of the track information, I will need the fonts so that I can match your design when I label the tracks later.
Sample Tracks: Here are 4 speaker names and track titles that you can use as part of your design to properly lay out your track listing design. These are realistic examples of the type of content that will need to go in the track listing and your design will need to fit around this type of track content. Please do not include a "track list" or similar heading, just the track information itself.
